It's always very stressful, I never get the right gift, something always ends up going wrong but at the end I think somehow we end up making it a memorable one hehe
So this year I said I'd do something simple and just share how we met.
I remember it as if it was yesterday, I was feeling kinda slumpy. Woke up and just threw anything on. No makeup or anything as all I had planned was a University orientation that morning. So in typical college student ware I rush to NYU for an event I was not klooking forward to.
The next part won't be hard to believe but I was late as usual so I ended up sitting at a table with my only two options , an older gentleman who was probably just there for the free lunch and the person who would one day become my one true in his perfectly pressed outfit.
We moved on to another room where lunch was served and we once again sat next to each other. Totally by coincidence. So as I get up to get my lunch I figured what the heck let me be polite and ask him if he would like me to get him some lunch. Not sure why I did that. I guess my mom just raised me the right way. The only options were sandwiches and he asked me for anything that didn't have bread lol. So what so I do I take the chicken out of the sandwich and get rid of the bread. In hindsight I'm not sure why I did it but I had already gone this far so I thought what the heck.
We talked briefly about work and exchanged business cards. He worked for a cool company so I figured maybe one day I can get something at a great price hehe.
We walked out of the building, he went left and I went right...
A few months later, we emailed and decided to go to dinner (one of the most amazing dinners of my life) and at the end of the evening I thanked him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. One which till this day he claims was worst than if his grandma gave it to him hehe.
And then the rest is history, we have been by each others side through thick and thin ever since. Through good times and bad. He allows me to be myself (crazy, messy and crafty) and loves me unconditionally. He is the perfect partner and the best father my children could ever ask for.
So this year instead of buying a cheesy gift or even making a card, I thought I'd tell the world that you are my forever #1...
Happy Anniversary Honey!
